| Los cuerpos de agua son importantes para el almacenamiento y abastecimiento de agua potable, riego, generar energía eléctrica, además de ser importantes para disipar la fuerza de las grandes avenidas, estos cuerpos pueden ser utilizados como criaderos de peces y áreas de recreación, de lo cual muchas comunidades obtienen recursos adicionales para sobrevivir. | The Reykjanes Ridge strongly influences the circulation of the North Atlantic Subpolar Gyre as it flows to the Irminger Sea from the Iceland Basin. The circulation is composed of two main along‐ridge currents: the southwestward East Reykjanes Ridge Current (ERRC) in the Iceland Basin and the northeastward Irminger Current (IC) in the Irminger Sea. To study their interconnection through the ridge, as well as their connections with the interior of each basin, velocity and hydrological measurements were carried out along and perpendicular to the crest of the Reykjanes Ridge in June–July 2015 as part of the RREX project. | Several oceanographic surveys in Martinique waters with, as main objectives, either geological mapping and evaluating marine aggregate resources of research into deep water carcinologie resources, nafe produced interesting informtion on benthic pppulations situated from the infralittoral to the bathyal shelf, for the wole of faunistic groups and more specifically for the malacofauna. The distribution of the various faunistic group has been analysed in function to the bathymetric, edaphic and possibly, thermic factors. | Bathymetric estimation using remote sensing images has previously been applied to high spatial resolution imagery such as CASI, Ikonos, or SPOT but not on medium spatial resolution images (i.e., MERIS). This choice can be justified when there is a need to map the bathymetry on large areas. | This study explores a portion of the West African margin at the junction between two well- known segments offshore Dakhla and offshore Mauritania with destructional architecture characterized by giant slides. In between these two segments, the Dakhla segment has historically been described as a constructional section. During an oceanographic Dakhla cruise (2002), high resolution seismic data, swath bathymetry and imagery were acquired around latitude 23° N, offshore Dakhla,. | Two highly active mud volcanoes located in 990-1,265 m water depths were mapped on the northern Egyptian continental slope during the BIONIL expedition of R/V Meteor in October 2006. High-resolution swath bathymetry and backscatter imagery were acquired with an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV)-mounted multibeam echosounder, operating at a frequency of 200 kHz.
